COVID & Pets
Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that infect wild animals, humans, and our pets. In the onset of the pandemic, many animals were slaughtered or quarantined to minimize transmission of the virus, since transmission can be as as direct as the common cold. The world underwent rapid change, with working from home becoming the norm, and people sheltered in place.
Then, as many of us worked from home, pets brought us comfort through the COVID-19 crisis. Many pets would pop in on our Zoom calls, invade our meetings, and get in the way of errands and getting by. As we emerge from the COVID crisis, pets will continue to run by our side or rest at home across our communities.
